Everything you need to know about your holiday at the Kompatscherhof

The Kompatscherhof is a hotel in Lüsen, South Tyrol – run with dedication by the Hinteregger family for many years. What was once a working farm is now a cosy little hotel where tradition and modernity go hand in hand: in the kitchen, in the parlour, and in the evening conversations. A small place with a big heart – where you’ll feel welcome from the moment you arrive.

The Kompatscherhof is situated in Lüsen, a quiet mountain village in the Val di Luson/Lüsnertal valley, just a few kilometres from Brixen. Our address (in Italian and German) is: Frazione Valletta/Flittnerstrasse 6, 39040 Luson/Lüsen, South Tyrol. From the panoramic windows in the rooms, you can enjoy views of Mt Plose, the Dolomites, or the Sarentino/Sarntal Alps.

You can reach us by car via the A22 Brenner motorway – take the Brixen exit, then continue towards Lüsen (approx. 15 minutes). To reach us by train, get off in Brixen; from there, a bus or taxi will bring you to Lüsen. We would be happy to pick you up from the station by arrangement.

Half board at our hotel in South Tyrol includes a generous breakfast buffet featuring homemade jams, yoghurt, ricotta, and cakes, as well as a three-course evening meal – freshly prepared by chef Gerhard using produce from our own garden and local farms. In addition, you can enjoy all the wellness facilities and many other pampering services. Prices are per person per night, excluding tourist tax (€2.50 per person per night). Please note: during the summer and autumn seasons, there is no dinner on Tuesdays – the cost is, of course, deducted from your bill.

Absolutely. The Kompatscherhof is a genuine family hotel in Lüsen, featuring a playground, a playroom, a children’s play area, and a large lawn. Children up to the age of 8 stay for half price; children aged 9 to 17 receive a 30% discount.

We offer 16 rooms and suites, as well as holiday apartments in Lüsen, all equipped with a balcony, satellite TV, a safe, and a bathroom with a shower, hairdryer, and toilet. Locally sourced natural wood and panoramic windows offering mountain views create an atmosphere that blends South Tyrolean tradition with modern comfort.

In summer, hikes on Mt Plose and cycle rides through the Val di Luson/Lüsnertal valley beckon; in winter, the region is transformed into a winter wonderland perfect for skiing, snowshoeing, and tobogganing. The culture-rich town of Brixen is just a short drive away.

The sauna oasis features a Finnish barn sauna, an aromatic steam bath, a Swiss stone pine infrared cabin, sensory showers, a panoramic relaxation room, and the “Room of Silence” with waterbeds – as well as a heated infinity pool, a panoramic whirlpool, and a fitness room with mountain views. For a cosy evening, the rustic parlour with its wood-burning stove and the bar await.

A booking is considered confirmed once a deposit of €200.00 has been received within 7 days of the booking being made. The deposit remains valid for 18 months for a change of booking. If you cancel up to 4 weeks before arrival, 70% of the package price will be charged; if you cancel within 4 weeks of arrival, or in the event of late arrival or early departure, 100% will be charged. We recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance.
